2) When XON/ XOFF control is selected:

The signal indicates whether the printer is correctly connected and is

ready to receive data. SPACE indicates that the printer is ready to

receive data. The signal is always SPACE except in the f ollowing

cases:

• During the period f rom when the power is t urned on to when the

printer is ready to receive data

• During t he self-test

25 INIT Input Changing the DIP switch setting enables this signal to be used as a

reset signal for the printer.

The printer is reset when the signal remains SPACE for 1 ms or more.

*1 • Definition of “receive buff er full”

• When the receive buffer capac i ty is specified to 4 KB (DIP SW1-2 is Off):

• If the DIP SW 2- 5 is off , when the remai ni ng space in t he recei v e buffer drops to 128 bytes,

the printer status becomes “buffer ful l” and it remai ns “buffer ful l” until t he space in the

receive buffer increases to 256 bytes.

• If the DIP SW 2- 5 is on, when the rem ai ning space i n the r ecei v e buf fer drops to 128 bytes,

the printer status becomes “buffer ful l” and it remai ns “buffer ful l” until t he space in the

receive buffer increases to 138 bytes.

• When the receive buffer capac i ty is specified to 45 bytes (DIP SW1-2 is On):

• Regardless of the DIP SW2-5 setting, when the remaining space in the rec eive buffer

drops to 16 bytes, the printer status becomes “buffer f ull” and it remains “buff er ful l” until

the space in the receive buffer i ncreases to 26 bytes.

• The printer i gnores the data received when the remaining space in the receive buff er

is 0 bytes.

2.1.1.4 XON/XOFF transmit timin g

When XON/XOFF control i s selected, the printer transmits XON or XOFF signals as foll ows.

Transmit timing diff ers depending on the DIP SW2-1 setting.
