Chapter 6 Microsoft Pocket Outlook 75

Exchanging contacts with other devices

You can exchange contacts with colleagues who have Windows-powered devices (such as a Pocket PC or Handheld PC) or Palm devices (such as the Palm III series, Palm V, and Palm VII). The PeaceMaker program enables you to exchange one or more selected contacts, or to send a pre-selected contact (for example your personal business card).

To send a contact to another device

1.In Contacts, tap and hold the contact you want to send.

2.On the pop-up menu, tap the appropriate command:

To send a card to a Windows-powered device, tap Send via Infrared.

To send a card to a Palm device, tap Beam Selected, and then tap Send Contacts.

3.Align the infrared port on your HP Jornada with the infrared port on the receiving device.

To exchange your personal business card

1.In Contacts, tap and hold any contact.

2.On the pop-up menu, tap Card Exchange.

3.If you have not designated a contact to send, tap Select Card, and then browse your contact list to select your own contact information.

4.Align the infrared port on your HP Jornada with the infrared port on the receiving device, and then tap Send Business Card.
