This section contains two sets of instructions:

“Installing the DNIC” (page C-49)

“Removing the DNIC” (page C-53)

These instructions apply to Ethernet (DNIC-E’NET) and LocalTalk (DNIC-L’TALK).

The DNIC and controller board are sensitive to static electricity. Before installing the DNIC, discharge static

electricity from your body by touching something metal, such

Caution as the metal back plate on any device plugged into a grounded power source. If you walk around before finishing

the installation, again discharge any static electricity.

Never remove the printer controller board while the printer is plugged in.

The printer is capable of supporting two DNICs; however, do

not install two of the same DNICs in the printer.
