Overview
The NDIS driver enables the
emulate a LAN adapter. It supports the transportation of TCP/IP and IPX/SPX protocols over WAN serial lines. The NDIS driver enables the adapter to connect simultaneously to
TCP/IP and IPX/SPX LANs over dedicated leased lines or through Frame Relay or X.25 networks. It is available for PPP, X.25, and Frame Relay data protocols.
This chapter explains how to install the NDIS software on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 systems. Use this process to install the Base driver, Base driver utilities, NDIS driver, and NDIS driver utilities. This chapter also explains how to remove NDIS and Base driver software, if required.
After installation, you can create up to four NDIS driver configurations (referred to as logical adapters) on the server for LAN connections. This
