Setting Up the NDIS Driver 5
Overview
You can create up to four NDIS driver configurations for connecting the
•PPP, X.25, and Frame Relay
•X.25 and Frame Relay
Each NDIS driver connection configuration is referred to as a logical adapter. Logical adapters specify adapter properties, network protocol properties, channels, and channel properties to use for WAN network connections.
During the NDIS driver installation, one logical adapter is automatically created and assigned a unique adapter identifier. You can use the NDIS Driver Setup utility to change the logical adapter’s default network and channel properties. In addition, you can use the Windows NT Network Control Panel to create up to three additional logical adapters, and then use the NDIS Driver Setup utility to set up properties for the logical adapters.
The chapter explains how to do the following NDIS Driver Setup tasks:
•Access online help
•Start and use the NDIS Driver Setup utility
•Add a logical adapter
•Set up logical adapter network properties
