Playback Features

ATTENTION

●Picture may not appear during variable speed search with an LP-recorded tape.

●In the variable speed search, still, slow motion or frame-by-frame playback mode, the picture will be distorted, and there will be a loss of colour.

●When normal playback resumes from search, still, slow motion or frame-by-frame playback, the picture may jitter vertically momentarily depending on the type of TV being used.

Clean the video heads using a dry cleaning cassette — ECL-3F — when:

●Rough, poor picture appears while a tape is played back.

●The picture is unclear or no picture appears.

●“USE CLEANING CASSETTE” appears on the screen (only with “O.S.D.” set to “ON” ( pg. 82)).

Still Picture/Frame-By-Frame Playback

1Pause during playback.

Push the JOG dial.

OR

Press 9.

2Activate frame-by-frame playback.

Turn the JOG dial to the right for forward frame-by-frame playback, or to the left for reverse frame-by-frame playback.

OR

Slow Motion

1Pause during playback.

Push the JOG dial.

OR

Press 9.

2Activate slow motion playback.

Press and hold 5 or 3 for over 2 seconds.

●The playback speed changes for each direction by pressing 5 or 3 repeatedly.

●To resume normal playback, press 4.

Variable Speed Search

During playback, turn the JOG dial to the right for forward variable-speed search, or to the left for reverse variable-speed search.

OR

During playback, press 5 for forward variable-speed search, or 3 for reverse variable-speed search.

●The playback speed changes for each direction by pressing 5 or 3 repeatedly. Refer to the illustration below.

●To resume normal playback, press 4.

Press 5 repeatedly to advance one frame at a time. Press 3 repeatedly to reverse one frame at a time.
