MAIN ZONE AND ZONE 2 OPERATION

The HomeTheater Standard has two audio zones, main and zone 2. The main zone consists of the mainviewingor listening area, andzone2 consists of anotherlistening area. Youcanselect a multi-channelaudio, digital or analogaudio, or a video devicefor mainzonelistening. Zone2 can only be usedwith an analogaudio device. To configure a device that has both..d..igital andanalogoutputs, see ConfigureDevices,on page30.

The HomeTheaterStandard's two-zoneoperation offers a numberof listening options.

¯Youcan play both zonessimultaneously, with the mainzoneplaying a device in one part of the houseandzone2 playing a different (or the same)device in anotherpart of the house.

¯With the HomeTheater Standardin operational or stand-by mode,you can activate the mainzoneonly. Or, while the HomeTheaterStandardis still in stand-bymode, you can set up zone2 listening so that whenyou switch to operational mode,only zone2 plays.

¯Youcan play a device using the mainzonewhile using zone2 to record.

Mainzoneandzone2 listening is mosteasily accessedthrough the remotecontrol.

Play Both Zones

With the HomeTheater Standard in stand-by mode:

1.Pressandrelease the HTSkey (57) until the red LEDilluminates.

2.Pressthe input deviceselection button or key for the deviceyou wishto play.

3.Beginplaying the device.

4.Pressthe Z2 key (59).

5.Pressthe input device selection button or key for anotherdeviceto play in

zone2. Or select the sameinput device button if youwantthe samedevice to play in both zones.

6.Beginplaying the device.

7.Press the HTSkey again to turn off the mainzone.

8.Press the Z2key andthe HTSkey to turn off zone2.
