1.5 Control keys
The control keys are located on top of the con- trol unit (see photograph).

As long as a button is held, the instrument will go up or down until reaching the upper or lower limit.
1.6 Maintenance and care
•Protect the lifting pistons in the four legs of the height adjustment device against dust and water.
•Approximately every six months lubricate the legs with a thin coat of

1.7 Troubleshooting
1.Slight and uniform loss of height of the de- vice in the course of several weeks is nor- mal. Remedy:
Correct the loss of height by pressing the 
button until the instrument is lifted back up to the desired working level.
2.The cryostat is in an inclined position due to an uneven upward movement of the lifting pistons. Difference of level among the four legs > 5 mm. Remedy:
Have the instrument travel once up and down over the entire height adjustment dis-
tance: press 
until the instrument reach- es the upper limit position and then 
until the instrument reaches the lowest possible position. Then lift the instrument back to reg- ular working height.Should the problem re- occur several times, call Leica Technical Service.
3.The height adjustment device does not reach the maximum upper level or the instru- ment lowers itself by a relatively large dis- tance (> 5 cm) within a short time.
Remedy: Call Leica Technical Service.
