The following illustration shows the status of the jumpers and switches on the system board of your server. You can configure, recover, enable, or disable some specific features of the system board by setting the jumpers and switches.

Attention: To set the jumpers or switches, you need to remove the server cover and gain access to the system board. Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding “Safety information” on page iii and “Guidelines” on page 81.

Clear CMOS jumper

Used to clear CMOS and turn the BIOS settings into the factory default settings.

Note: Clearing CMOS does not erase your BIOS passwords.

To clear CMOS, do the following:

1.Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server.
