Changing the printing mode
To conser ve ink, you can chang e the def ault p rintin g mode f or all p rint jo bs to Qu ick Pri nt. It u ses le ss ink a nd is id eal
for printing text-only documents. If you need to change to a different print mode to print photos or other high-quality
documents, then you can select a different mode from the Print dialog before sending the print job.
To change the default print mode:
For Windows users
1Click , or click Start and then click Run.
2In the Start Search or Run box, type control printers.
3Press Enter, or click OK.
The printer folder opens.
4Right-click the printer, and then select Printing Preferences.
5Select Quick Print as the printing mode.
For Macintosh users
1With a document open, choose File > Print.
2From the printer pop-up menu, choose the pr inter.
3From the print options pop-up menu, choose Print Settings or Quality & Media, depending on your operating
system.
4From the Print Quality pop-up menu, c hoose Quick Print as the printing mode.
5From the Presets pop-up menu, choose Save as, and then type a name for your setting configuration.
You must choose this configuration name fr om the Presets pop-up menu for each print job.

Changing the printing mode for a singl e print job

For Windows users
1With a document open, click File Print.
2Click Properties, Preferences, Options, or Setup.
3Select Automatic, Quick Print, Normal, or Best.
Note: Printing in Draft or Qu ick Print mode uses less ink and is ideal for printi ng text documents.
For Macintosh users
1With a document open, choose File > Print.
2From the printer pop-up menu, choose the pr inter.
3From the print options pop-up menu, choose Print Settings or Quality & Media, depending on your operating
system.
4From the Print Quality pop-up menu, c hoose Automatic, Quick Print, Normal, or Best.
Note: Printing using Quick Print uses less in k and is ideal for printing text documents.
