Flash Download System (FDLS) - initiate system-wide flash download
basedo n the parameters specified in LD 97. This initiates the system-wide
flashdownload to all, or the specified type of M3900 sets, from the system
diskif the flash firmware version on the set is differe ntfr om the version found
on the disk.
Duringsystem-wide flash download, when flash download detects that an
M3900set is in an active call connection, th es etis skipped.Download logic
keepstrack of skipped sets, and comes back to attemptthe download later.
M3900flash download attempts download to each set up to threetimes. If
downloaddoes not succeed by the third attempt (whether due to an active call
connectionor some problem such as a transmission error), flash download to
thes et is considered to have failed. An appropriate message is displayed for
eachset thatfails the firmware upgrade process. Upon completion of
system-wide flash download, a completion mess age is displayed on the
maintenanceset. This operation can take up to several days to complete
dependingon the traffic load, the total number and distribution of the
equippedM3900 sets, and the scheduling of the download. See Table 17 on
page 133 for estimations on download times.
WhenM3900 sets fail system-wide flash download, you can then determine
thecause of the failure, perform corrective action, and repeat the flash
downloadcommand – system-wide or for a specific set.

FlashDownload Cancel(FDLC)- cancel the system-wide flash download.
FromOverlay 32 o r outside of the overlays, youcan cancelor stop the
system-wide flash download operation gracefully by issuing the FDLC
command.A down loadin p rogress to the current set(s) completes before the
downloadprocess terminates.
