Using Settings
•Home Icons — controls wh ether main menu
icons appear on the idle scre en .
•Sleep Mode — control s the interval that e lapses
before your phone e nters Sleep mode.
• Backlight — controls backlight illumination.
•Clock — controls whether the tim e an d da t e
appear on the idle screen; set s tim e and date
format; sets year.
• Menu View — controls whether the items on
your main menu an d Java application s menu
appear as large icons or a list.
• Large Dialing — sets large digits to appear on
the idle screen when you ent er a nu mb er.
•Contrast — sets the contr ast of the display.
• Status Light — controls the LED status light
located in the top left corn er on the front of your
phone. See page 2 .
• Language — sets the lang uage that your phon e
displays.
Phone Calls Fe aturesThe Phone Calls m enu controls how yo ur phone
handles phone calls:
•Set Line — sets phone line 1 or phone line 2 as
the active line for outgoing calls.
• Any Key Ans — If this feature is o n, you can
answer calls by pressin g any key on the keypad.
• Auto Redial — sets your phone to a utomatically
redial calls you m ake when the sys tem is busy.
• Call Waiting — See “Call Wait ing” on page 38.
•Auto Ans — sets your phone to automatically
answer an incomin g call after a speci fied
number of rings. When this feature is on, the
phone answers by c onnecting you to th e caller;
it does not send the ca ll to voice mail, unless
you are out of cov erage or on the line .
• Minute Beep — causes a bee p to sound every
minute of an active call .
•Call Duration — causes the dur ation of a call to
appear on the disp lay when the call e nds.
•TTY — See “Making TTY Calls” on page 43.
• Notifications — See “Messa ge Notifications” on
page 60.
• Java App Control — If you have installed a
Java application that answers phone calls, this
setting lets you tur n that application on.
• DTMF Dialing — sets whether you can hear
keypad presses du ring a call.
