Using Settings
•Line 2 — sets ringer volume for phone line 2.
• Messages — sets th e volume of message
notifications and Datebook reminders.
• Earpiece — sets the volume of soun d coming
out of the earpiece.
• Speaker — sets the volume of sound coming
out of the speaker.
•Keypad — sets the volume of sound associat ed
with pressing keys and buttons.
• Java Earpiece — sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the earpiece.
• Java Speaker —sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the speakers.
•Data — sets the volume of sou nds that notify
you that you are receivin g a cir c u it da ta call.
Security FeaturesThe Security menu lets you tu rn security features
on and off and change passwo rds:
• Phone Lock —turns on a feature that lock s y ou r
phone: Lock Now takes effect immediately;
Auto Lock takes effect when your phon e is
powered off and then on. An unlock code is
required to enable this fea ture, to unlock the
phone, and to set a new unlock code. Contact
your service provi der for your defau lt unlock
code.
•Keypad Lock — locks the phone’s keypad,
either immediately or automatically af ter a set
period of inactivity.
• SIM PIN — enables and disables your phone’s
SIM PIN security fe ature. See “Turning th e PIN
Requirement On and Off” on page 13.
• GPS PIN — enables and disables your phone ’s
GPS PIN security feature. See “Setting the GPS
PIN Security Feature” on pag e 10 7.
• Change Passwords — changes your phone
unlock code, security code , SIM PIN, and GPS
PIN.
Advanced FeaturesThe Advanced menu contains adva nced and rarel y
used Settings feature s .
• Alert Timeout — sets the amount of time a tone
continues to sound whe n yo u r ec ei ve a
message notificati on, call alert, or Datebook
reminder.
• Headset/Spkr — sets the headset option. See
“Using a Headset” on page 132.
