Operational Cautions
Note: The areas with p otentially explosiv e
atmospheres referred to above include
fueling areas such as below decks on
boats, fuel or chem ical transfer or
storage facilities, areas where the air
contains chemicals o r particles, such
as grain, dust or metal powder s, and
any other area where you would
normally be advised to turn off your
vehicle engine. Areas with potentially
explosive atmospheres are often but
not always posted.

Blasting Caps and Areas

To avoid possible interf erence with blasting
operations, turn off your radio product when you
are near electrical bl as ting ca ps, in a bl as t in g are a,
or in areas posted : “Turn off two-way radio”. Obey
all signs and inst ructions.

Operational Cautions

Batteries

All batteries can cause pr o pe r ty dam ag e and/or
bodily injury, such a s b ur ns if a con du ct iv e mat er i al
such as jewelry, keys, or beaded chains touches
exposed terminals. The conductive material may
complete an electr ical circuit (shor t circuit) and
become quite hot. Exercise care in ha ndling any
charged battery, particularly when placing it inside
a pocket, purse, or othe r container with metal
objects. To reduce the risk of injury, batteries
should not be exposed to f ire, disassembled, or
crushed.

Cleaning and Drying Considerations

Using a leather carry cas e ma y he lp protect the
surfaces and help prevent liquids (e.g., rain) from
entering into the i nterior of the radi o product. This
product is not water proof, and exposing the unit to
liquids may result in perman en t da mage t o th e un it.
If your radio product in terior gets wet, then do not
try to accelerate dr ying with the use of an oven or a
dryer as this will damage the radio product and
void the warranty. Inst ead, do the following:
1Immediately power off the radio product.
2Remove Battery an d SIM card (if so eq uipped)
from radio product.
3Shake excess liqui d from radio produ ct.
4Place the radio prod uct and battery in an area
that is at room tem perature and has good air
flow.
5Let the radio produc t, battery, and SIM card dry
for 72 hours before reco nnecting the battery
and/or powering on the radio product.
