Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility

Antenna Care

Use only the suppli ed or an approved
replacement antenna. Unauthorized antennas,
modifications, or attachments could damage the
radio product and may violate FCC regu lations.
DO NOT hold the antenna wh en the radio
product is “IN USE”. Holding the antenna affects
call quality and may cause the radio product to
operate at a higher power level than needed.

Note: Nearly every elec tronic device is
susceptible to elec tromagnetic
interference (EMI) if inadequately
shielded, designed or other wise
configured for elec tromagnetic
compatibility.

Facilities

To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or
compatibility con flicts, turn off y our radio product in
any facility where posted notices instruct you to do
so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using
equipment that is sensitive to external RF ener gy.

Aircraft

When instructed to do so, turn off your radio
product when on board an ai rcra ft. Any use of a
radio product mus t be in accordance wi th
applicable regulat ions per airline crew instructions.
Medical Devices

Pacemakers

The Advanced Medical Technology Association
(AdvaMed) recommends that a minimum
separation of 6 inches (15 cm) be maintained
between a handheld wir eless radio product and a
pacemaker. These recommendations are
consistent with those of the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration.
Persons with pa cemakers should :
ALWAYS keep the radio product more than 6
inches (15 cm) fr om their pacemaker when the
radio product is turned ON.
