Selective Dynamic Group (SDG ) Calls

Joining a Talkgroup

Your sales representative or your service provider
establishes Talkgroups for you and assigns each
Talkgroup a Talkgroup number. You can choose a
name for each of your Ta lk grou ps whe n yo u c r eate
entries for them in Co ntacts.
To receive group calls made to any of these
Talkgroups, you must join the Talkgroup.
1Press A under Contcs. -or-
From the main menu, scroll to Contacts and
press O.
2Scroll to the Talkgroup you want to join.
3Press A under Join.
Note:You can only monitor one Talkgrou p at a
time.

Making Group Calls

1Press #. Then enter the Talkgroup number
using the keypad. -or-
Choose the Talkgrou p name from Contac ts or
recent calls list.
2Proceed as if making a Private call.

Receiving Group Calls

To answer a group call:
Proceed as if answering a Private call. Only one
person at a time m ay speak on a group call.
The Private ID or na me of the person wh o is
speaking will appe ar on the display below the
Talkgroup number.

Turning off Group Calls

To set your phone to prevent you from hearing
group calls to your Talk gro u p :
1From the main menu, sele ct Settings > 2-Way
Radio > Tkgrp Silent.
2Set this option On.
To set your phone to let you hear group calls to
your Talkgroup:
Set Tkgrp Silent to Off in step 2.
Selective Dynamic Group (SDG) Calls
A SDG call is similar to a Private call, but is made
to all members of a SDG list at once. A SDG list is
a group of Private IDs that yo u cr e at e us in g your
phone. A SDG list mus t con t ai n a t le as t 2 m ember s
and can contain up to 20 mem bers.
