Recording Your Name
When you send, reply to, or copy a message, your name response precedes the message. To record or rerecord your name at any time use the following steps:
1From the main Voice Mail menu, press 4to access Personal Options.
2Press 4 to access Personal Preferences.
3Press 3 to access the Record Your Name option.
4Press 2 to record your name.
5Press ** to return to the main menu.
Recording Your Active Greeting
NOTE: Through the Nextel Voice Mail Service, there are a number of ways people can reach you. You may want to include one or all of the following options in your greeting so that callers will know they are available. Also, in your greeting, you should tell callers to press the pound sign (#) after they have finished recording. This will prompt Nextel Voice Mail Service to play the list of menu options shown below:
•Press 1 to send a numeric page.
•Press 2 to send an operator assisted message. (This option is available only if you are a subscriber of Operator Assisted Paging. Contact Nextel Customer Care for more information.)
•Press 9 for other options (after pressing 9 the caller will need to press 5 for Delivery Options, which enables them to mark the message as Urgent, Private, etc.).
•Press # to skip the greeting and record message immediately.
Sample Greeting
Below is a sample greeting. You can add the above options as you see fit.
“Hello, you’ve reached _____________. I’m sorry I missed your call. If
you leave a message at the tone, I’ll return your call as soon as possible. If you would like to bypass this greeting in the future, press pound. Thank you for calling.”
