Requirements and compatibility
Instant Internet supports the following Internet connection types:
•Dial-up Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connection with optional Multilink Protocol (MP) at up to two times V.90
•ISDN connection using synchronous PPP and optional Multilink Protocol (MP) at up to 128 kilobits per second (Kb/s)
•Synchronous leased-line connection at speeds up to 2 Mb/s (T1, E1, V.35, or X.21) using PPP or frame relay (using RFC 1490)
•Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) connection using the 1-Meg modem or an external Ethernet device to connect to an access concentrator
