Configuring IP Phone auto-configuration
To configure Windows 2000 Server DHCP to auto-configure the IP
Phones, perform the following steps:
Step Action
1Create DHCP options (see “Creating the DHCP options” (page
494))
Call Server Information
VLAN Information for auto-discovery of the IP Phone VLAN
ID
2Configure the DHCP options (see “Configuring the Call Server
Information and VLAN Information options” (page 497))
Repeat this step for the data (or boot) VLAN and the Phone
VLAN.
3Set up the IP Phone (see “Setting up the IP Phone” (page 500))

Creating the DHCP options

Step Action
1On the Windows 2000 Server Start menu, select Programs >
Administrative Tools > DHCP.
The DHCP Management Console opens (see Figure 33 "The
DHCP Management Console" (page 495)).
