12.2.1.4 Configure Meters
As mentioned in section 5.2 above, if we do not configure a maxim um duration rate, the
committed burst will be automatically set to the maximum value. For all 10/100 Mbps and 1 GigE
Ethernet ports, the maximum committed burst is 524,288 bytes. Hence, it does not matter what
value you enter for the max-burst-rate as long is it is greater than the c ommitted-rate.

For this example, we will create a classifier block named “b1” with the f ollowing
