Chapter 5Multi-Unit User Operations

1. Base unit: Press to display

the handset number which you

want to page, then press

(Locator/Intercom).

•The handset rings for 1 minute.

•To stop paging, press

(Locator/Intercom).

2. Handset : Press (Talk)

to answer.

3. Base unit: Talk into the MIC.

4. Handset or base unit:

To end the intercom, press (Talk) or (Locator/Intercom).

Paging a handset from the base unit (individual paging)

The base unit user can page one of the handsets by selecting the handset

number. You can confirm the handset number by performing

"Selecting the Stand-by Mode Display" (p. 80).

Transferring a Call Using the Intercom (KX-TCD970E-B only)

The intercom can be used during a call. This feature enables you to transfer a

call between a handset and the base unit.

From the base unit to a handset

1. Base unit: During a call, press to display the handset number

which you want to page, then press (Locator/Intercom).

•The call is put on hold.

•If the handset user does not answer, press (Locator/Intercom).

2. Handset: Press (Talk) to answer the page.

3. Transferring a call:

Base unit: Press (Locator/Intercom).

•The transfer is completed. The handset can answer the call.

OR

Ending the intercom:

Base unit: Press (Digital speakerphone).

•The base unit returns to the call.
