Making/Answering Calls

Erasing a number in the redial list

Important:

LMake sure that the unit is in standby mode.

1Press {REDIAL/PAUSE}.

2Press {V} or {^} to select the desired number, then press

{MENU/SET}.

3Select “Erase”, then press

{MENU/SET}.

L To cancel, select “Cancel”, then press {MENU/SET}.

4Press {REDIAL/PAUSE} to return to standby mode.

Note:

LTo return to the previous menu, press {<}.

PAUSE button (for PBX/long distance service users)

A pause is sometimes required when making calls using a PBX or long distance service.

For example, if you need to dial the line access number “9” when making outside

calls with a PBX:

1Lift the handset or press

{SP-PHONE} or a line button.

2Press {9}, then press

{REDIAL/PAUSE}.

3Dial the phone number.

Note:

LA 3.5 second pause is inserted each time {REDIAL/PAUSE} is pressed. Press repeatedly to insert longer pauses.

Answering calls

When a call is being received, the unit rings and the called line indicator flashes rapidly.

Using the handset

1Lift the handset.

2When you finish talking, place the handset on the cradle.

Using the speakerphone

1Press {SP-PHONE}.

2Speak into the MIC.

3When you finish talking, press

{SP-PHONE}.

Note:

LIn step 1, you can also answer the call by pressing the flashing line button. Be sure that the handsfree mode is set to “Speakerphone” (see “Handsfree mode” on page 42).

Adjusting the ringer volume (4 levels)

Press {-} or {+} repeatedly when in standby mode.

Turning ringer on/off

Turn the ringer on/off for each line.

Important:

LMake sure that the unit is in standby mode.

1Press {MENU/SET}.

2Select “Advanced Setup”, then press {MENU/SET}.
