Series)
This chapter explains how to use Direct Printing Utility to print PDF
files without having to open the files.

AUTION
• You can not print PDF files that are restricted to print.
Deactivate the printing restriction feature, and retry
printing.
• Y ou can not print PDF files that are restricted by a password.
Deactivate the password fe atu re, an d retry printing.
• Depending on how a PDF file was created, it may not be able
to be p rin te d u s i n g the
Direct Printing Utility
program.
• Depending on the installation of Hard Disk on your printer;
PDF files can or can not be printed using the
Direct
Printing Utility
program.
•The
Direct Printi ng Utilit y
program supports PDF version
1.4 and below. For a higher version, you must open the file
to print it.
Overview Direct Printing Utility
Direct Printing Utility is a program that sends a PDF file directly
to your pr inte r without ha v ing to o pen th e file. It sen d s data
through the Win dow s spooler using the p o rt of the pr inter
driver. It only suppor ts PD F for mat.
To installing this program, you should select
Custom
installation
and p ut a ch e ck mark in this program w h e n yo u
install the printer driver.
Printing
There are several ways you can print using Direct Printing
Utility.
From the Direct Printing Utility
window

Start
menu select
Programs
or
All Programs
→
Direct Printing Utility
→
Direct Printing Utility
.
Or, double-click the Direct Printing Utility shortcut icon on
your desk top.

Select the printer you w ill use in the Se lect Printer section
and click
Browse
.

Select the PDF file you will print and click
Open
.
The PDF file is added in the Select Files section.

Customize the printer settings for your needs. See the
next column.

Print
.
The selected PDF file is sen t to the printer.
Using the shortcut icon

Select the PDF file you will print and by dragging drop it to
the Direct Printing Utility shor tcut icon o n y o ur de sk to p .
The selected PDF file is sent to th e de fau l t p rinter.

:
If the defau lt printer does not support Direct Printing Utility,
the message window alerting you to select the appropriate printer
opens. Select the appropriate prin ter in the Select Printer section.
