8.2.2Lubrication

CAUTION

DAMAGE DUE TO WRONG LUBRICANT

Wrong lubricants may damage the product.

•Use the correct type of lubricant (grease, oil) as required by the linear guide of the linear axis.

•Note the type code.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.

Lubricant is used continuously during operation of the linear axis. There- fore, regular relubrication is mandatory.

The lubrication system is not completely tight. Therefore, small amounts of lubricants may escape after relubrication.

Insufficient lubrication or incorrect lubricants increase wear and reduce the service life. The following factors influence the lubrication intervals:

•Dust and dirt particles

•High operating temperatures

•Heavy loads

•Heavy vibration

•Permanent short-distance positioning

•High speed of rotation of ball screw
