Sprint PCSConnection Manager
SprintPCS Connection Manager is the application that allows you to manage and
monitor the high-speed Sprint Power Vision (1xEV-DO) and SprintPCS Vision (1X)
connection to the Sprint network. You use SprintPCS Connection Manager to:
vDetermine your signal strength and other network connection parameters (page33).
vInitiate data calls (page43).
vView call statistics (page68) and messages (page 35).
vCustomize features and options (page58).
Starting SprintPCS Connection Manager
To start SprintPCSConnection Manager:
1. Ensure the SprintMobile Broadband Card is inserted into your computer’s PC
Card slot, with the Sprint label facing up.
2. Double-click the program’s icon ( ) on your desktop, or, from the Start menu
on your Windows desktop, select:
(Windows XP) All Programs> Sprint> Sprint PCS Connection Manager.
(Windows 2000) Programs> Sprint> Sprint PCS Connection Manager.
When SprintPCS Connection Manager is running , it places an icon ( ) in the
system tray, usually at the right end of the taskbar. (See page39.)
Start Sprint PCSConnection Manager Automatically
To set SprintPCSConnection Manager to start automatically (whenever your card is
detected):
©From the General option of the Settings window (page59), select Launch
Connection Manager automatically.
Tip: You can also set Sprint PCS Connection Manager to launch automatically
whenever your card is detected. (See the following section.)
Note: Changes to this setting apply only after you restart Windows.
