Optimization Settings

This window is available only if the optimization client was installed (page 17).
The Sprint Mobile Broadband Card supports bandwidth optimization – a combination of data compression, TCP/IP optimization and caching. When the related software is installed, the Sprint Mobile Broadband Card uses bandwidth optimization whenever possible (subject to network availability); when
optimization is in use, the 
icon is displayed in Sprint PCS Connection Manager.
The improvement in your perceived system speed depends on the nature of your application. Limitations to bandwidth optimization include minimal improvements with email applications (page 77).
From the Optimization option of the Settings window, you can set the bandwidth optimization level used by your Sprint Power Vision/Sprint PCS Vision connection.
To enable optimization:
▶Select Bandwidth Optimization On.
