Note the following terms used in this book:

The term server module refers to the Sun Blade X6450 server hardware.

The term chassis refers to the Sun Blade 6000 modular system.

The term remote drive refers to a disk drive that is located outside the server module, but is configured to serve as a local drive.

The server module includes a service processor (SP), which is IPMI-compatible software integrated into the motherboard. This can be either:

Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) – Sun Blade X6450 server modules are currently shipped with an ILOM service processor.
