At generation, validation rule variables are instantiated with the following values:

Code of the attribute to which the business rule applies

Code of the domain to which the business rule applies

Code of the class to which the business rule applies

Server validation rules for the entity attribute or domain

ϖTo use a validation rule in check parameters:

1 Click the Rules tab in the property sheet of a class, attribute, or domain. The Rules page appears.

2 Click the Add Rules tool.

A list appears displaying the available business rules in the model.

3 Select a business rule in the list.

4 Click OK in each of the dialog boxes.

Validation rule expressions

You must click the Rules button to modify the expression attached to a validation rule. You can also modify validation rule expressions from the list of business rules, by clicking the Define button.
