Troubleshooting 8

Using a PostScript error handler

The PostScript error handler is useful for diagnosing problems when a job doesnÕt print. PostScript errors are printed on a page with other status information when an error occurs. This function can be useful to programmers for debugging PostScript code.

You can enable and disable the error handler through the printerÕs front panel menu (Printer Defaults menu), through PhaserLink software (refer to

the PhaserShare Networking System Administrator Manual), or through a PostScript utility Þle (refer to the printerÕs CD-ROM).

Once youÕve enabled the error handler through the front panel or through PhaserLink software, the error handler remains active until you manually disable it. Cycling the printerÕs power does not disable the error handler. If you use a PostScript utility Þle to enable the error handler, you can disable it by cycling the printerÕs power.
