4Printing Basics

When to use the manual-feed slot

Use the manual-feed slot to feed single sheets for printing, especially when you want to print on heavier paper or cover stock. The manual-feed slot will accept nonglossy cover stock of 135 to 220 g/m2 (50 to 80 lb.).

1.Through a supported printer driver, select Manual Paper or Manual Transparency from your computer. Refer to the tables on page 4-20 and page 4-36 for PC and Macintosh menus, respectively.

2.In the dialog box, click the Print button.

3.Go to the printer and open the manual-feed cover using the recessed Þnger tab.

4.Set the guide on the inside of the manual-feed cover for letter- or A4-size media.
