4.5 Saving Your Configuration

When you are done modifying the settings in a screen, click Apply to save your changes back to the run-time memory. Settings in the run-time memory are lost when the ES-3124’s power is turned off.

Click the Save link in the upper right hand corner of the web configurator to save your configuration to nonvolatile memory. Nonvolatile memory refers to the ES-3124’s storage that remains even if the ES-3124’s power is turned off.

Note: Use the Save link when you are done with a configuration session.

4.6 Switch Lockout

You could block yourself (and all others) from accessing the switch through the web configurator if you do one of the following:

1Deleting the management VLAN (default is VLAN 1).

2Deleting all port-based VLANs with the CPU port as a member. The “CPU port” is the management port of the switch.

3Filtering all traffic to the CPU port.

4Disabling all ports.

5Misconfiguring the text configuration file.
