CHAPTER 1 GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 USER MANUAL CONTENT

This User’s Manual contains the operating instructions, installation instructions and specifications of the GenesysTM 1500W and 750W power supply series. The instructions refer to the standard power supplies, including the built-in RS232/RS485 serial communication. For information related to opera- tion with the optional IEEE programming, refer to User’s Manual for Power Supply Programming In- terface. (TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. P/N 83-030-200)

1.2 INTRODUCTION

1.2.1General Description

GenesysTM power supplies are wide output range, high performance switching power supplies. The GenesysTM series is power factor corrected and operates from worldwide AC voltage range continu- ously. Output Voltage and Current are continuously displayed and LED indicators show the complete operating status of the power supply. The Front panel controls allow the user to set the output pa- rameters, the protections levels (Over-Voltage protection, Under-Voltage limit and Foldback) and pre- view the settings. The rear panel includes the necessary connectors to control and monitor the power supply operation by remote analog signals or by the built-in serial communication (RS232/RS485). GPIB programming and Isolated-Analog programming/monitoring are optional.
