IntelliLink® Postage Meter System—A Pitney Bowes technology that allows you to download postage meter features, postal rates, and postage meter software updates via a digital link.

Lock Code—A four-digit code that serves as a user password. It prevents unauthorized postage meter use.

Main Screen—The postage meter display that shows your current selections. It indicates that you're ready to print postage.

Modem—The part of the postage meter that dials into the Pitney Bowes Data Centre and transfers information over the phone line.

Origin Postal Code—The postal code for your address location is included on each digital indicia that your postage meter prints.

Postage By Phone® Meter Payment System—A service available through Pitney Bowes that allows you to buy postage and check account status over the phone. It also permits convenient postal in- spection by phone.

Preset—A postage meter setting you can call up instantly at the push of a button. A preset can hold a postage amount, account, ad, and class of service.

Serial Number—The serial number found on the rear of the postage meter.

Sleep Mode—An energy-saving feature of your postage meter that clears the display after a certain period of idle time. Pressing any key wakes up the display.

Tape Sheets—A sheet of self-adhering paper which you print post- age on and apply to a piece of mail or package that is too big to be processed through the postage meter.
