Tsunami MP.11 Installation and Management

COMMAND LINE INTERFACE OVERVIEW

The Command Line Interface (CLI) is a text-based interface with which you can configure and manage the MP.11 by entering commands. This section describes only how to access the CLI; the interface itself is described in “Chapter 6. Command Line Interface” on page 60.

The CLI can be used as an alternative to the Web Interface. You can, for example, quickly change the settings of the MP.11 by running commands in a batch.

The CLI is accessible through the:

Ethernet port connected through the network or with a cross-over Ethernet cable between the computer and the MP.11

Serial port of the MP.11

Ethernet Port

To use the CLI through the Ethernet port, you must have a telnet program and the IP address of the MP.11. On most computers, the telnet program is called telnet. See “MP.11 IP Address” on page 17 for details.

To access the MP.11 through Ethernet:

1.From the Windows Start menu, select Run; enter telnet followed by the IP address, as shown in the following sample Run command window.

2.Click OK to start the telnet program.

3.You are prompted for your password:

Please enter password:

4.Enter the password (the default password is public). You can now use the CLI.
