Using Short Message Service (SMS)

Your machine supports the short message receiving service. Using this feature, you can receive short messages coming from other machines such as faxes, computers, or mobile phones.

When you read or print your messages, the font not supported by your machine appears as blank. See page 9.4 and page 9.5 for information about font available with your machine.

Reading SMS messages

You can read messages received from other machines.

1Press Menu repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, and press Enter.

2The first available option, Read Message, appears, then press Enter.

3The list of messages received appears. Select the message you want to read by pressing < or > and press

Enter.

The messages you do not read are marked with an asterisk(*).

The machine can save up to 30 messages. Messages will not be lost even if power is disrupted.

Printing SMS messages

You can print messages received from other machines.

1Press Menu repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, and press Enter.

2Select Print Message by pressing < or > and press Enter.

3Select Print One by pressing < or > and press Enter.

4The list of messages received appears. Select one by pressing < or > and press Enter. The selected message prints out.

• If you select Print All, then all messages stored in the machine will print out.

Deleting stored SMS messages

You can delete messages received from other machines.

1Press Menu repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, and press Enter.

2Select Delete Message by pressing < or > and press Enter.

3Select Delete One by pressing < or > and press Enter.

4The list of messages received appears. Select one by pressing < or > and press Enter. The selected message is deleted.

• If you select Delete All, then all messages stored in the machine will be deleted.
