INTRODUCTION

Read the entire manual before installing and operating the MIG-PAK

WARNING

ELECTRIC SHOCK can kill.

• Only qualified personnel should installation or operate this equipment.

•Machine must be plugged into a receptacle which is grounded per any national, local or other applicable electrical codes.

•The MIG-PAK power switch is to be in the OFF (“O”) position when installing work cable and gun and when connecting power cord to input power.

•Do not touch electrically live parts or electrode with skin or wet clothing. Insulate yourself from work and ground.

•Always wear dry insulating gloves.

FUMES AND GASES can be dangerous.

• Keep your head out of fumes.

• Use ventilation or exhaust to remove fumes

from breathing zone.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The MIG-PAK is a compact lightweight DC wire feeder/power source designed for workshop, hobby, and light mainte- nance. It is configured for welding mild steel using the GMAW, single pass, process as delivered from the factory. This process requires a supply of shielding gas. It can be converted for the self shielded, Innershield electrode process (FCAW) with the appropriate conversion kit. (See ACCES- SORIES section).

La MIG-PAK es una fuente de potencia/alimentador de alam- bre de CD, ligera y compacta, diseñada para trabajos en talleres y casas, así como para dar mantenimiento sencillo. Está configurada para soldar acero dúctil utilizando el proce- so de alambre tubular Innershield (FCAW), como se entrega de fábrica. Con un solo paso puede convertirse al proceso GMAW, el cual requiere un suministro de gas protector y un Juego de Conversión MIG K610-1.

La MIG-PAK es ideal para aquellas personas que tienen acceso a una energía de alimentación de CA de 115 voltios.

La MIG-PAK est une source de courant-dévidoir c.c. légère et compacte conçue pour l'atelier, le bricolage et les petits travaux d'entretien. Elle est configurée en usine pour le soudage des aciers doux en utilisant le procédé avec fil-élec- trode Innershield autoprotégé (FCAW). On peut la trans- former pour le procédé GMAW en une seule passe qui néces- site une source de gaz de protection et le nécessaire de con- version MIG K610-1.
