Before You Begin

Before you begin, read the Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information for the Cisco Application Deployment Engine (ADE) 2130 and 2140 Series Appliance document that shipped with your appliance.

Warning Only trained and qualified personnel should be allowed to install, replace, or service this equipment.

The directions left and right in this chapter are synonymous with the installer’s left and right. They refer to the installation or uninstallation as you face the appliance from the front.

Preparing for a Successful Installation

The installation and uninstallation of the hardware options for the Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series appliance involve many steps, most of which must be done in the order in which they are presented here. Each section explains one associated group of tasks upon which the next section’s tasks are built.
