1.3Main Features of the Analyzer

The Model 7300A Infrared Gas Analyzer is sophisticated yet simple to use. The main features of the analyzer include:

A easy-to-use front panel interface that includes a red 5-digit LED display and a vacuum fluorescent display, driven by microprocessor electronics, that continuously prompts and informs the operator.

High resolution, accurate readings of concentration from low levels to 100%. Large, bright, meter readout.

Versatile analysis over a wide range of applications.

Microprocessor based electronics: 8-bit CMOS microprocessor with 32 kB RAM and 128 kB ROM.

Three user definable output ranges (from 0-2% through 0-100 %) allow best match to users process and equipment.

Calibration range for convenient zeroing or spanning.

Auto Ranging allows analyzer to automatically select the proper preset range for a given measurement. Manual override allows the user to lock onto a specific range of interest.

Two adjustable concentration alarms and a system failure alarm.

Extensive self-diagnostic testing, at startup and on demand, with continuous power-supply monitoring.

RS-232 serial digital port for use with a computer or other digital communication device.

Analog outputs for concentration and range identification. (0-1 V dc standard, and isolated 4–20 mA dc)

Superior accuracy.

1.4General

The Model 7300A is a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) analyzer that employs the basic principles of spectroscopic analysis to measure a specific concentration of a gas in a multicomponent gas system. The concentration of component of interest is determined by exposing a chamber (sample cell) filled with a gas mixture to infrared radiant energy and measuring how much of the specific (non-dispersive) infrared wavelength is absorbed by the gas
