Facing Requirements

Attach the included fiber board (or other non-combustible) to the fireplace and framing (see Figure 22 below). This non-combustible facing must extend from the base of the fireplace to the header and to the framing members on both sides.

WARNING: Do not use adhesive to secure the cement board or facing. The high temperatures of the fireplace may cause adhesives to emit odors. Use mastic or thin set (or other non- combustible, non-odorous adherent) to
