Before UsingYour SaecoVenus for the FirstTime

(Read all "Important Safeguards" and "Warnings" in this manual.)

1.Wash all removable parts of your machine with warm water. Removable parts are the Internal Filter Basket Holder, the Carafe and the Carafe Lid. Do not wash any of these removable parts in the dishwasher. Temperatures in a dishwasher vary and can permanently alter the integrity of the removable parts.

2.Unwind the power cord from the storage area located on the backside of the machine. Straighten the cord thoroughly to remove any kinks. Wind excess length back into storage area, leaving only the amount of cord needed to reach the outlet.

3.Perform a rinsing cycle by brewing just water and then set the clock according to the directions on page 12.

4.If you experience problems, please look at the troubleshooting section located at the end of this manual, or contact Saeco Customer Service at 1-800-933-7876

Caution:

· Never operate your SaecoVenus without water. Doing so may permanently damage the machine.

· To avoid overflow, never fill water reservoir with more water than fits in the carafe.

· Never operate your SaecoVenus with anything but clean cold water in the water reservoir.

·The Control Pad is encased in a soft touch material that is splash proof, but not waterproof. Do not over expose the control pad to water; it may permanently damage the Control Pad making the coffeemaker inoperable.
