IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons.

1.PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY, PRIOR TO USING.

2.Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3.To protect against risk of electric shock, do not put coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

4.Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5.Do not abuse cord. Never carry the coffeemaker by the cord or yank it to remove it from an outlet: instead grasp the plug firmly and pull to disconnect.

6.Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug. Do not operate after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment. Call Saeco Customer Service for assistance at 1-800-933-7876.

7.The use of an accessory not evaluated for use with this appliance or sold by the manufacturer may cause injuries, fire, or electric shock.

8.The thermal carafe is designed for use only with this coffeemaker. Do not use with any other

drip coffeemaker. It must never be used on a range top, in a microwave, or with any other heat source.

9.Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.

10. Turn coffeemaker off and unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning appliance.
