Precautionary Procedures
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can dam age static-sensitive devices on circu it
boards. Follow these precautions when you ha ndle the 10BASE-FB
Modules:
❑Do not remove the board from its anti-st atic shielding bag until you
are ready to inspect it.
❑Handle the board by the faceplate.
❑Use proper grounding tech niques when you install a 10B ASE-FB
Module. These techniques include:
– Using a foot strap and grounded m at or wearing a
grounded static discharge wris t strap.
– Touching the grounded rack or other source of grou nd
just before you handle a 10BASE-FB Modul e.
