3.Insert the module into the board guides at the top and bottom of the slot and slide it into the concentrator. Make sure that the connector is well-seated into the backplane of the concentrator.

Figure 3-2 shows the installation of a 10BASE-FB Module

4.Fasten the spring-loaded screws on the front of the 10BASE-FB Module faceplate to the concentrator using your fingers (do not overtighten).

5.Remove the plastic fiber optic covers from the cable ports. Keep unused cable ports capped to keep the optics clean.

6.Attach the fiber cables to the fiber ports on the front of the 10BASE-FB Module as shown in Figure 3-3.
