To create and initialize a RAID volume:
1Access the Configuration menu.
2Click Configuration Wizard.
3Click Add Configuration, then click Next.
4Click Custom Configuration, then click Next.
5Use the Ctrl key to select the drives that you want to add into the array.
6After selecting the drives, click Accept DG, then Next.
7Select the RAID Level you want to use.
8Create the logical volume and specify its size on the Select Size field, then click Accept.
9After creating a logical volume on all of the RAID volume, click Accept, then Yes to save the configuration.
10Click Yes to initialize the new logical drives. All the created logical drives will be listed.
11Click on Home to revert to the Configuration menu.
12Select Exit, then Yes.
13Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the system.
Proceed to the installation of the operating system. Refer to the user documentation that came with your OS for related instructions.
To assign a hot spare disk:
1Access the Configuration menu.
2Under Physical Drives, select a free disk marked as UNCONF GOOD.
3Select Make Global Dedicated HSP or Make Dedicated HSP, then click Go.
4Click on Home to revert to the Configuration menu.
Under Physical Drives, the assigned hot spare disk is marked as Hotsapare and highlighted in pink.
