EQ (EQUALIZER)

This unit provides the following three different equalization curves. F1OCK: Powerful sound emphasizing treble and bass

F’OP: More presence in the vocals and midrange

JAZZ: Accented lower frequencies for jazz-type music

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

Press the VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons (or the VOL A/

Vbuttons on the remote control.)

The volume level is shown on the display for 5 seconds. It can be set from O (minimum) to 23, and then MAX (maximum).

The volume remains memorized even after the power is turned off. However, if the power is turned off when the volume is set to more than 15, it is automatically set to 15 the next time the power is turned on.

ENHANCING THE BASS SOUND

The T-BASS system enhances the realism of low-frequency

sound.

Press the SOUND button repeatedly until EQ ? appears on the display.

Within 5 seconds, press the ENTER button.

Within 5 seconds, turn the MULTI JOG dial.

Select one of the three equalization curves, or off position.

C!SURROUND SYSTEM

Tl?e Q SURROUND system built into this unit uses only two speakers at the left and right to create an atmosphere that sound as if you are surrounded by two front speakers and two rear speakers.

Low frequency sound may be distorted when the T-BASS system is used for a disc or tape in which Iowfrequency sound is originally emphasized. In this case, cancel the T-BASS system.

At higher volumes, turning Q SURROUND on may cause sound distortion. In this case, turn the volume down.

Thle output volume and tone of the speakers or headphones may be freely varied without affecting the level of the recording.
