Displaying System Information

You can easily identify the system by providing a descriptive name, location and contact information.

Displaying System Information - Web

Click System, System Information. Specify the system name, location, and contact information for the system
administrator, then click Apply.
This page also includes a Telnet button that access the Command Line Interface via Telnet (FIG.3).
Field Attributes
•Model Number: The switch model number.
• S/W Version #: The current software version number.
• System Name: Name assigned to the switch system.
• Object ID: MIB II object ID for switch’s network management subsystem.
• Location: Specifies the system location.
• Contact: Administrator responsible for the system.
• System Up Time: Length of time the management agent has been up.
These additional parameters are displayed for the CLI.
• MAC Address: The physical layer address for this switch.
• Web server: Shows if management access via HTTP is enabled.
• Web server port: Shows the TCP port number used by the web interface.
• Web secure server: Shows if management access via HTTPS is enabled.
• Web secure server port: Shows the TCP port used by the HTTPS interface.
• Telnet server: Shows if management access via Telnet is enabled.
• Telnet server port: Shows the TCP port number used by Telnet.
• Authentication login: Defines the login authentication method and precedence.
• Authentication enable: Defines the authentication method and precedence to use when changing from
Exec command mode to Privileged Exec command mode
• POST result: Shows results of the power-on self-test.
