6-4 681XXC OM

Self-test error messages normally indicate the failure of an

internal component or assembly of the signal generator.

There are no operator serviceable components inside. Refer

servicing of the instrument to qualified service technicians.

Toprevent the risk of electrical shock or damage to precision

components, do not remove the equipment covers.

WARNING

Error Message Description/Remarks
Error100
DVMGround Offset Failed Indicatesa calibration-related problem. DoNot Attempt to Operate! Refer the
instrumentto a qualified service technician.
Error101
DVMPositive 10V Reference Indicateseither a calibration-related problem or a defective+10 Volt reference. Do
notAttempt to Operate! Refer the instrument to a qualified service technician.
Error102
DVMNegative 10V Reference Indicateseither a calibration-related problem or a defective 10Volt reference . Do
notAttempt to Operate! Refer the instrument to a qualified service technician.
Error105
PowerSupply Voltage(s) out
ofRegulation
Indicatesone or more of the voltages from the power supply are out of regulation.
DoNot Attempt to Operate! Refer the instrument to a qualified service technician.
Error106
PowerSupply not Locked Indicatesthe power supply is not phase-locked to the 400 kHz reference frequency.
The681XXC is still operable in a degraded mode. The RF output may contain more
spurioussignals than normal.
Error107
SweepTime Check Failed Indicates the sweep timing is out of tolerance or has failed. If analog sweeps can be
obtained, the 681XXC is still operable in a degraded mode. If analog sweeps can
notbe obtained, the 681XXC is operable only in CW or step sweep frequency
modes.
Error108
CrystalOven Cold Indicatesthe 100 MHz crystal oven or the Option 16 high-stability 10 MHz crystal
oscillatorhas not reached operating temperature. The 681XXC is still operable, but
frequencyaccuracy and stability may be degraded.
Error109
The100MHz Reference is not
Lockedto the External
Reference
Indicatesthe reference loop is not phase-locked to the external 10 MHz reference.
Thereference loop may phase-lock to the internal 100 MHz time base; conse -
quently, the 681XXC would continue to operate normally.
Error110
The100MHz Reference is not
Lockedto the High Stability
10MHzCrystal Oscillator
Indicatesthe reference loop is not phase-locked to the optional, high stability
10MHz crystal oscillator. The reference loop may phase-lock to the internal
100MHz time base; consequently, the 681XXC would continue to operate normally.
