tions encountered during operation of the signal generator.Included
are procedures for troubleshooting faults that do not produce error
messages, such as, failure to power up and unexpected shutdown.

Signal Generator will not turn on

(OPERATElight is OFF)

Normal Operation: When the 681XXC is connected to the power
source, the OPERATElight should illuminate and the instrument
should power up.
Step 1 Disconnect the 681XXC from the power source, then check
the line fuse on the rear panel.
qIf the fuse is defective, replace (see page 6-14).
qIf the fuse is good, go to the next step.
Step 2 Check to see if power is available at the power receptacle.
qIf not, move to a working receptacle.
qIf power is available, go to the next step.
Step 3 Check the power cable.
qIf defective, replace.
qIf good, call a service technician.

Signal Generator will not turn on

(OPERATElight is ON)

Normal Operation: When the 681XXC is connected to the power
source, the OPERATElight should illuminate and the instrument
should power up.
qIf the OPERATElight illuminates but the unit fails to
power up, the 681XXC has an internal component fail-
ure. Call a service technician.
