Chapter 6: Companion Programs

Companion programs include Microsoft® Pocket Word, Microsoft® Pocket Excel, Windows MediaTM Player for Pocket PC, and Microsoft® Reader.

To switch to a companion program, tap , then Programs, then the program name.

Pocket Word

Pocket Word works with Microsoft® Word on your computer, providing easy access to copies of documents. You can also create new documents on your device or copy documents from your computer.

To create a new file, tap , Programs, Pocket Word, then New. Or, from the Today screen, tap New, then Word Document. Only one document can be opened at a time; when you open a second you will have to save the first. Documents can be saved in a variety of formats including Word (.doc), Pocket Word (.psw), Rich Text Format (.rtf), and Plain Text (.txt).

Pocket Word contains a list of stored files. Tap a file to open it, and tap and hold to delete, make copies of, or send it from the pop-up menu.

Select the type of folder you want displayed in the list.

Tap to change the sort order of the list.

Tap to open a document.

Tap and hold an item to see a pop-up menu of actions.

Tap to create a new document.
