First example (previous page): The LPV has found a Gigabit device (1000 Mbps) on Pairs 1, 2 and 3, 6 that is capable of transmitting at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps at full- duplex. 1000 Mbps devices use all four pairs.

In Figure 6-70, the LPV has found a 100-Mbps device on Pairs 3, 6 that is capable of transmitting at 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps at half-duplex. Typically, devices that transmit on Pairs 1, 2 are PCs and devices that transmit on 3, 6 are hubs and switches.
